Dos and Don’ts When Caring for Your Wig Topper

  • 1. Do use gentle, sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner specifically formulated for human hair.

    2. Do wash the topper under slow running lukewarm water, ensuring it’s securely pinned to the provided block, using as many pins as possible evenly distributed around the perimeter if the wig topper.

    3. Do handle the topper with care, avoiding excessive pulling or tugging to prevent damage to the hair, use the brush recommended.

    4. Do air-dry the topper on a wig stand or mannequin head away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

    5. Do store the topper in a cool, dry place away from moisture, heat, and sunlight to maintain its quality.

    6. Do where possible have your topper professionally cleaned.

  • 1. Don’t use hot water when washing the topper, as it can damage the hair

    2. Don’t rub or scrub the topper vigorously, as this can cause tangling or shedding.

    3. Don’t use harsh chemicals, bleach, or alcohol-based products on the topper, as they can strip the hair of its natural oils and damage the colour and texture.

    4. Don’t apply conditioner to the base or roots of the topper, as it can loosen the knots and cause slippage.

    5. Don’t store the topper in a cramped space or in direct contact with other items, as it can cause tangling and misshaping of the hair.

Following these dos and don’ts will help ensure that your bespoke handmade human hair 3/4 wig topper remains in excellent condition and maintains its natural beauty for a long time.
